Hi! I'm Taliyah Fox.
I am a creative based in Boston, MA and Charlotte, NC. I am currently a second-year student at Northeastern University majoring in Game Art and Animation and minoring in Music Industry.
I've been drawing and painting for as long as I can remember. My increasing love for music has really fueled my creative ability and being able to intersect two things that I love. I draw, paint, animate, photograph, and design. Anything visually creative means the world to me.
What is "artziety?"
For me, "artziety" (pronounced similarly to "anxiety"), is something more than an Instagram username, although that's how it began. As a middle schooler who loved posting my art on social media, the one thing that greatly bothered me was my Instagram username. I kept one that I liked for a few months and then changed it to something else that fit me better. Eventually, I came up with the username "artziety": a straightforward word that perfectly captured what it was like to be an artist. As an artist, I love what I create, but often feel anxious and like an imposter, as I wonder what others will think about it.
It is no longer just the result of a successful attempt at finding an Instagram username that I liked in middle school. It is a word that I feel reminds me of my entire artistic journey. It does not remind me of anxiety or impersonation but rather makes me feel proud of my work despite the anxious feelings that came with them.
